It was good to see the riverside bar in full swing this ‘Opening of season’ weekend. On Friday night Fran our supercook produced one of her special meals which encouraged many people to come out in the inclement weather. 

On Sunday a very brave contingent indeed climbed on Flying Colours for some hands on experience in stemming the stream and other boaty things. This is part of Andrew B’s Sunday Clinic program where he is ably assisted by Ian and Brain.  Not ideal boating weather, even by British standards. I had to stay in the galley unfortunately , obviously I would have loved to be crewing in the snow.

After the clinic its back to the clubhouse where hot casseroles (definitely needed) are dispensed to another large lunchtime crowd. Don celebrated his 55th birthday (baby!) with his family around and we all got some birthday cake.

Can’t be bad.
