Today we travelled from Deinze to the outskirts of Gent on the River Leie. This part of the river (which starts in France as the River Lys) is lined by fields on one side and multimillion pound houses on the other. Reginald had told us we had to leave Deinze by 8 so it was a hazy early morning trip, as slow as we could make it to take in the sights and sounds around us. Definitely a diversion worth making.
