Wending our way home

As I write we are on the Thames, approaching the Thames Barrier on a beautifully sunny day , and calm seas all around. We spent two days in Blankenberge but then the weather forecast sent us running for Ramsgate. Severa left us for Chatham on Thursday then rejoined us on the Thames. Brainwave and Odyssea left the cruise in Ramsgate , so we are 6 boats going up the Thames today.

The forecast that sent us running for home a day early
Blankenberge pier
Beach bars Blankenberge style
Art – spot both ‘statues’
Ruth contemplates a light lunch
Art Deco interior of pier

Moored up at Royal Schapout Yacht Club in Blankenberge
They fly all the best burgees
An excellent PDD by Ian and Polly and , despite a very iffy menu, our last meal on foreign soil was a culinary success. Congrats to Keith for organising all our group dinners and Alastair our PDDO

The cruise presents The Commodore and his lady with a penguin (me neither!)
Briar says goodbye as the cruise leaves for the UK. She has to get to Ramsgate by car, with her favourite uncle, Richard.
Our last PDD on ETTA in Ramsgate.

Thank you to all the boats and crew for making this yet another memorable cruise, and mucking in to make things work. Especially for the exceptional teamwork and reactions when we told you all we are   crossing the channel ….. with 30 mins notice! You know what, we don’t have any boating virgins any more….

Love to you all – Speedbird, Severa, Adrienna, Vivacious, Free Spirit, Brainwave, Odyssea and Cartagena ❤❤

seas all Brainwave and Odyssea left the cruise in Ramsgate, so we are seven boats in convey up the Thames today.
