Dusseldorf City

A number of us decided that Day 2 in Dusseldorf would be best spent touring the city. Luckily we had a guide book which directed us around the main areas and down some rather bizarre streets. The Rhine was flowing very fast, and barges moved very slowly against the tide. Lots of trees were trunk high with water.

Luckily the centre area was very manageable by foot. Interestingly trams are free to and from the Boat show , to ticket holders. But having said that there didn’t appear to be any ticket barriers/collectors anyway. The two way escalator had us thinking though.

Ice Skating Rink
The Ko-Bogen
Idea for TMYC function?
St. Andreas Church and the typical cobbled streets of the old City
The Rathaus with statue of Jan Wellem
The ship Museum
Art, apparently
Barges fight their way up the Rhine
Lots of old fashioned entertainments
More street art
In the market. Every which variety of potato.
A light lunch. Two thick rounds of pancake and lots of bacon in the middle. its called a Rhineish.
