Last weekend the club came to us but this weekend we are off to the club.
Friday weather was awful, and we managed to get pretty wet on our way down to Hampton Court. The first event of the weekend was the Friday night quiz, ably managed by Geoff. The three teams were very close, within a few points of each other. Those who know me will not be surprised that I opted to drink at the bar instead 🙂
Saturday was Flower Power party. Andrew opened the evening with grace, and some words from 1971:
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religious wars too
Imagine all the people living life in peace, you
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
After a 1970’s menu of Prawn Cocktail, Gammon and Pineapple and Peach Melba it was party on. The evening was more than ably managed by Keith and Pauline who were also at the club for the weekend on Odyssea. Brian Dare was Mr Disco, and played all our favourites.
and last but not least we danced all night Mo and Elaine and Pauline
The morning after the night before arrived, and a sobering Sunday Clinic was run by Andrew B, ably assisted by Phil and Ian. There were a dozen or so members who hopefully learnt something about towing boats in distress.
IMG_4753_HEVC watch movie of Knot arf and Juno’s Dart dancing…..
And last but not least we had some 30 members for Sunday Lunch, where we managed to sell all the goods before sailing home on Etta, with Odyssea for company.
A great weekend. A bit cold now though….
