The day after the weekend before….

Now several of us (me included) never quite made breakfast on Sunday. Or we made it so late we missed the boat trip. Or indeed we missed both breakfast and the boat trip. Its a hazard of weekends away I am sure.

Yesterday the forecast was for rain all day, and there were no boats running. But today is another day. The weather is grey, but no rain, and a quick phonecall to the boat company confirms that the river has lowered enough for the boat trip to be on. Hurrah!

We set off for Pulteney Bridge and caught a Pulteney cruiser to Bathhampton and back. Anthoney and Janet walked back. My excuse was I hadn’t packed…

  1. Angie and I went on the later boat sunday morning, we hailed the downriver TMYC boat. We were treated to sightings of two kingfishers one had a small fish in his beak. Never seen that before. Their riverside nests which consisted of round holes in the earth riverbank were clearly visable.
